The "Default Policy" is located under the Enterprise Policies node. You cannot change or delete this Default Policy. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the ISA Server array is completely locked by default. Only traffic you explicitly allow through the array is allowed.



Step 5: For now we will select all the tick boxes and click next.



Step 6: Review all the settings and click "Finish".



Step 7: Status screen once you click finish.



Step 8: The new Array is listed under Arrays. Now we need to apply these changes to the (CS) database so select "Apply".



Step 9: Status screen once you click apply "Changes to the configuration Storage Server"



There is one thing we need to keep in mind is that if you look at the array status page under "Configuration Storage" it only displays "CS1" & "CS2" seems to be not there. To be very honest I have not managed to find the answer yet for myself so not sure if this is a bug or by design. So in the next step we will make this change manually. 




All you have to do is right click the Array you have created and select properties. Select "Configuration Storage" and in the "Alternate Configuration Storage Server" either type the FQDN OR click browse and look it up in Active Directory & apply the changes. The update frequency default setting is "15 seconds" this can be changed depending on your network & server performance.

I feel the changes made in this step are self explanatory. :)




Now that we have completed the following:

1. Planning
2. Installing configuration Storage servers.
3. Creating a new Enterprise Array.

It is time we go ahead and deploy our ISA server(s) in the final Part 4 of this article series.
