I am currently working as a Senior Field Consultant. I started my professional career in 1999 in India. In the year 1999 I decided to transition from the Retail Industry to hard core Information Technology, which was always my strength and desire. I realised my strengths and keen interest when I worked on Dbase III Plus a few years back but due to various constraints I could not pursue my career at that point in time. I have worked in various capacities in the fields of Software Technology, as Systems administrator, Systems Support Engineer, Implementations Engineer and Senior Implementation Engineer. Currently, I am based as Senior Field Consultant for a Microsoft Gold Partner in Oxford, U.K.
I am certified in various disciplines

This news has been rocking the IT industry since a couple of days & will carry on doing so for the entire year 2009. :)
I must say this will be the next big thing in the IT industry for this year.
Personally for myself as a qualified professional I feel my skills sets are ideal and feel this move is good for the consumers & for IT professionals like myself & many others who have a broad range of skill sets. :)
From the customer’s point of view as well; better choice for them & they are more likely to get a better bargain at the same time with all the competition. If they are Cisco house for networks & HP house for servers, now they will get a chance to consolidate & focus on one company if all boxes are ticked :) which is great for staff training, daily maintenance etc...
Well done Cisco!!!
I personally have worked on Virtualization, Blade Centers & HP, Dell & IBM servers i.e. PL / ML / DL series & PE 1800, PE 1900, PE 2950, etc....
I am also keen on the reaction / response in the coming months from HP / Dell / IBM.
